Cross Badger is the Crossclear crossing information service.

On your device

Saved crossings, your last crossing, animation preferences and browser alert settings are stored on this device. Near Me asks for location only when you use it. Coordinates are sent to the crossing service to find nearby crossings; they are not stored as a location history.

Optional notifications

If you turn on alerts, the server stores a random installation identifier, notification delivery address, selected crossings, timezone and alert hours. It uses these to send approaching-train alerts through Expo (native app), Apple, Google or Mozilla (browser delivery). Turn off alerts to stop delivery. Native app disable removes the registration; browser registrations expire after 90 days without renewal. Delivery records are retained for up to 30 days to prevent duplicate alerts and diagnose delivery failures.

Forecasts

Train forecasts use Network Rail data and geography from OpenStreetMap contributors. They do not confirm the position of a barrier. Follow the signals and instructions at the crossing.

Service operation

Hosting providers process network addresses to serve this page. The application does not intentionally log search coordinates, notification credentials or private field observations in request logs. No advertising or analytics trackers are included in this version.
